This workshop will introduce participants to some of the key puppetry principles and performance approaches used widely in contemporary British theatre.

Jimmy Grimes will start with techniques inspired by Bunraku and applying them in a range of contexts from table top human-form puppets to life size creatures.

The course will focus on developing practical skills within a disciplined focus on telling clear stories, focusing on a puppet movement as the primary story aspect rather than dialogue.

Like all great art, puppets can take your imagination on an exciting journey and they excel in an ability to tell stories visually.
