A show full of images and creative installations, inspired by the survey of ideas and the exploration of themes, on which there is no agreement (a perspective that we like). We like to start in the yes and end in its opposite, going through what’s in between. We like blank tables - of the empty space - and to give birth, in successive layers, to the great contradictions of our days.

 

The dilemma of modern humanity in Faust is knowledge, the dilemma of contemporary humanity is visibility.

 

Is it better to be than to seem? To be seen more than to see? Wear glasses to see and glasses to be seen. Speak well, speak badly, but speak. Time... that great sculptor. Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in. Do you agree? Do you accept it? Does it work? Do you identify?... or maybe not!  And if none of this works... put on some bright pink latex gloves e....

 

The big difference between Success and Fame is that:
with Fame one is known, with Success, recognised.

 

BIO

Luís Hipólito was born in Lisbon. He began his theatrical studies at Acarte, in 1996, with the actress and director Lúcia Sigalho. He debuted, as an actor, in the show “Sensurround”, by Lúcia Sigalho and was part of her company, with the same name, until 2000. Since then, he has worked regularly with the director João Ferreira, with the theatre company D'as Entranhas and with A Tarumba - Teatro de Marionetas. He participated in FIMFA (International Festival of Puppetry and Animated Forms) and in FIMP (International Festival of Puppets in Porto and Puppet Festivals in France, Turkey, Denmark and Slovenia. He graduated in Agronomic Engineering in 1994 and specialized in tropical and subtropical studies, with an internship in Amazon in the area of cooperation for the development of indigenous peoples in the region of Tocantins, Belém do Pará. He has worked as a journalist in the documental area since 2000. In 1999 he collaborated in the newspaper Expresso in theatre and dance. From 2013 to 2017, he worked in cinema production, art direction and wardrobe, at Leopardo Filmes, by Paulo Branco and participated in the Object Theatre Workshops: From Prop to Protagonist, directed by René Baker; The Body and the Object, by Agnès Limbos and Nicole Mossoux; The Actor facing the Object, by Agnès Limbos.

 

Mónica Garcez was born in Lisbon. She made the Professional Theaatre Course in 1996. She debuted as a professional actress in the show “Divinas Palavras”, by Ramón del Valle-Inclán. She was part of the “Arte e Ciência” Project at Teatro da Trindade / Inatel. In training and artistic accomplishment, she highlights, among others, the teachers Jorge Fraga, Teresa Lima, João Mota, Maria Helena Serôdio, Vera San Payo de Lemos and José Pedro Serra, the directors Luís Castro, Jorge Fraga, Paulo Oom, Ricardo Moura, Rui Quintas and Carlos António; the shows “Bodas de Sangue”, “O Rei de Sodoma”, “Mx6”, “1755-O Grande Terramoto”, “Equivoco”, “Morgana”, “Amor de Perdição”, “Frida Frida” and “O Frigorífico”. She is a teatcher of thetare and Trainer in the area of Expression and Communication Techniques. She makes dubbing for animated and live-action films and series. She graduated in History, Archeology, in 1995 and did a Post-Graduation in Theatre Studies in 2006 (always at the Faculdade de Letras in Lisbon). In 2012 she did a postgraduate course in Theatre in Education (Escola Superior de Educação de Lisboa).
