Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, get ready for a small Circus CirCOOnference!
Dedicated to a young audience, this performance floats between the historical rigor of European Circus History and the dreamlike dimension of a historian who aspires to be a Circus artist... Inspired by different bibliographical records, it was born from the desire to fictionalize a story, based on the facts of its own history!
Confused? Don't miss the Small CirCOOnference! An act of freedom in the reconstruction of Circus History, written and performed with elements of humor, risk, and poetry, transcending all generations.
"Never has a history lesson for a young audience been so much fun. António Oliveira plays a historian with aspirations of becoming a circus artist. In a classic format, he questions his audience about episodes from circus history. His 'students,' highly engaged, scramble to answer and don't hesitate to speak over the teacher, who guides them on a grand journey starting in 1768, through the seven disciplines of the circus with a hilarious playful twist. Yet, it never loses its historical rigor, supported by a meticulously chosen soundtrack." - Catarina Ferreira, Jornal de Notícias
