Still and Bouncy are two very different characters, even their names tell us so! But they will soon discover they have more in common than they thought. Together, they will learn to overcome creative blocks, spark new ideas, and bring them to life, always with plenty of humor... even if it takes more than one try! Whether their ideas fail or take flight, what really matters is finding a way to bounce back!
Still is trapped in a static, black-and-white universe. She is a great artist used to having many ideas, but for some time now, she has been without inspiration. At her feet rolls Bouncy, a strange creature born from errors, failed drawings, and abandoned ideas. Vibrant, playful, and inventive, he lives in a permanent adventure, as she invents new shapes for him every day. He will lure her into a world full of unfinished ideas, shifting forms, and possibilities waiting to be reinvented. Acrobatic and agile, he brings life and color to this black-and-white world. He is a kaleidoscopic being!
This curious duo takes audiences of all ages on a wonderful and highly creative journey through the highs and lows of imagination, combining drawing, new circus, dance, and animated forms.
"Immobile & Rebondi unleashes its graphic poetry and cartoonish humor in a playful choreography (...).
Let’s say it right away: the result is a gem.
Accessible to a very young audience (...), it can be enjoyed at any age, given the quality that permeates every dimension. Everything in this show shines through the fantasy and originality of the universe it presents. From the animated set, itself the fruit of a unique aesthetic, to the soundtrack (...), we delight in such style and cleverness. The young audience is not mistaken; they are amused and enchanted, reacting spontaneously in the blink of an eye (...).
The accompanying music, at times repetitive and joyful, at others fast and jazzy, turns into a lullaby or electronica, touches on bossa nova, or draws inspiration from a Björk instrumental." - Marie Plantin, Sceneweb.fr
"Funny, energetic, and joyful." - Maïa Bouteillet, Paris Mômes
"Suspended movements, balancing acts, and wild acrobatics subtly evoke what is at stake in every creative process: hesitating, daring, failing, and starting over... A dramatic structure that is both simple and very easy for children to understand. What if imperfection, failure, or even the 'blank page' weren't obstacles, but rather starting points? A poetic celebration of the joy of creating." - Claudine Colozi, Coups d'oeil
BIO
Compagnie Lamento was founded in 2015 by dancer and choreographer Sylvère Lamotte. The company focuses its practice on physical and relational experimentation. Introduced at a very young age to contact improvisation, to which he remains deeply connected, the choreographer bases his research on the encounter with the 'other' and self-awareness, balancing expressiveness and abstraction. Working in close collaboration with Jérémy Kouyoumdjian, whom he met at Ballet Preljocaj, Sylvère Lamotte explores his own working protocols, open to collective reflection, improvisation, and spontaneous proposals.
In the same year he founded the company, he created Ruines (2015); followed by Les Sauvages (2017); L’Echo d’un Infini (2019); Tout ce fracas (2021); Voyage au bout de l’ennui and La fabuleuse histoire de Basarkus (2022), his first shows aimed at children; and Danser la faille (2023). During the 2024-25 season, two new creations come to light: Gagnés par la nuit and Immobile & Rebondi, a commission by Étoile du Nord for young audiences, created with author and illustrator Betty Bone.
Since the company's inception, Sylvère has engaged in numerous collaborations with final-year students from CNDC Angers, CNSM Paris, and the Académie Fratellini, creating several repertoire pieces for them. He also collaborates with the theater world, notably in the play Un furieux désir de bonheur, directed by Olivier Letellier, as well as in Sacre by Lorraine de Sagazan and Guillaume Poix.
