A puppet concert for a musician and his double, in a fusion of puppet, mask and music with a South American air, the False-Orchestra is to be listened to with your eyes wide open!
A virtuoso one-man orchestra attempts an impossible encounter between the original and the copy.
Two musicians are sitting with their backs to each other: one is a true musician and the other false.
On one side is a musician with a stringed instrument, a Ronroco. On the other is a percussionist flanked by a drum and a cymbal with spoons on his knees. One of them is a faker, faking the other...
In a turning set-up offering a vision of over 180° degrees, the two alter egos attempt an impossible encounter. They follow each other, evade, and tease each other before finally losing themselves and merging in a circular dance. The False-Orchestra plays between original and copy, reality and illusion, a fake Milonga with real Russian spoons.
Through a network of wires and pulleys, the body of musician and puppeteer Santiago Moreno is connected to an instrument he carries on his back. Through this system he plays a rhythmic score with incredible dexterity. Guitarist on one side, percussionist on the other, in an absolutely fascinating musical and physical performance.
Santiago Moreno, the One-Man-Band or Man-Orchestra, is back with a new singular proposal, after having fascinated audiences at FIMFA Lx16.
"A new variation on the one-man-band by the virtuoso Santiago Moreno, both musician and puppeteer, originally from Argentina. An original creation."
- Thierry Voisin, Télérama
BIO
Born in Argentina, the musician and puppeteer Santiago Moreno currently lives in France. He is the co-founder of the Italian-Argentinian band Aparecidos and the puppet theatre company Dromosofista. He has worked with several companies in eastern France.
The Lorraine company La Mue/tte is a partnership between the actress and puppeteer Delphine Bardot and Santiago Moreno. They have created seven shows since 2014, inventing a visual and musical form of theatre that allows both bodies and objects to speak, questioning relationships between men and women, power, and violence.
While Delphine Bardot creates a puppeteering language of her own, using the concept of the puppet theatre woman, Santiago Moreno responds by developing variations around the figure of the one-man-band and the idea of the body as a musical instrument, in keeping with the principles of puppetry, from intimate shows to thundering street concerts, that he has been preforming all around the world. Alongside his research and personal creations, Santiago Moreno also plays with an international one-man-band trio, OKtopus OrKestars, in collaboration with Martin Kaspar and Karl Stets.
