It was planned to celebrate the 20 editions of FIMFA, from 7 to 24 May. We had prepared an exceptional range of shows to share with you, our audience, and with all of our partners, but the pandemic changed everyone's plans.

On the 7th May 2020, the opening of FIMFA Lx20 would take place at the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, with  “The Great He-Goat”, by the company Mossoux-Bonté.

In this period of confinement, we invite everyone to watch this documentary (with 'homemade' English subtitles), which premiered at São Luiz Teatro Municipal, on the 21st March 2016, in World Puppetry Day.

We remain positive, because we want to return to the stage, which is our place!

There are too many souls of wood not to love those wooden characters who do indeed have a soul.

-Jean Cocteau

A documentary about the International Festival of Puppetry and Animated Forms and the company A Tarumba, created in 1993.
"Fifteen years of many stories and even more shows. This story has several strings, but from fifteen years ago that are the puppets that guide us. With interviews by Luís Hipólito and testimonies of collaborators, journalists and puppeteers, FIMFA: 15 years is the story of a festival that changed our way of looking at puppetry.
It has been 15 years building a festival but, more than that, an intimate relationship between Lisbon and the wonderful and mysterious world of puppetry."
