A pictorial and musical journey into the human body, exploring arteries, cells, and organs as if they were landscapes and natural mysteries!

Do trees have a heart? Do volcanoes have arteries?

Does my body contain stars? Can a cell be the size of a planet?

Do my lungs have branches where birds can build their nests?

Get ready for a grand expedition into the depths of our body. We will travel along the banks of arteries, and along the way, we might just find the heart of the mountain…

A scientific, sensory, and poetic exploration of the human body, this performance invites us to draw connections between the structures of the body and those of the environment. It offers a new perspective on our organs, cells, and bodily fluids, creating a fascinating kaleidoscope of the human body.

In this multidisciplinary show for young audiences, Justine Macadoux and Jacques-André Dupont Castro redefine the anatomy, and they immerse us in a colourful universe, that takes us to many unknown corners and areas of our body, which becomes a living, vibrant landscape. Everything is like an organic cartography in perpetual transformation.

"Accompanied by a game of shadows and lights, two artists bring together their practices to celebrate our inner selves. On one side, the drawing evolves like a kaleidoscope and, on the other, a musical landscape is formed to support the performance (...). A new adventure in which the body is transformed into a territory to be explored. Still with drawings that are animated, but this time also with video mapping for a total immersion.” - Le Petit Bulletin

BIO

Jacques-André Castro is a French-Colombian transmedia artist who navigates between the digital, performance and graphic arts fields. He uses the projection mapping medium to build bridges between distant disciplines and concepts. Since 2014 he has been developing the practice of live paint mapping, a practice that allows him to choreograph light in space in collaboration with visual artists, and has collaborated with musicians and painters in the context of festivals, clubs, exhibitions and concert halls. After completing a bachelor's degree in contemporary choreography at the University of Berlin, in 2014 she created Tactile Choreography, an art form dedicated to the sense of touch. At the same time, he trained in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and combined his artistic research with somatic practice. In 2021, he developed the ‘Biokinesis’ augmented reality project, which combines microscopic views of the human body with projections of light rhythms. As part of the Dose Le Son programme, between 2019 and 2023 he toured the SMACs of Rhône-Alpes as a video scenographer and singer/beat boxer for the group Chispun Soundsystem.

Justine Macadoux has a degree in plastic and applied arts, and she is graduated from ESNAM - École Nationale Supérieur des Arts de la Marionnette de Charleville-Mézières. Since 2011, she has been a performer with various companies. Her encounter with Coralie Maniez gave rise to Les Géométries du Dialogue, a Cie Juscomama project in 2015 that combines live chalk drawing techniques mixed with sound and mask play. After ten years of touring and hundreds of performances, the two shows, Les Petites Géométries and Les Géométries du Dialogue, are still on tour. At the same time, she continues her graphic research through movement, analysing somatic practices such as Anna Halprin's life-art process, which links movement/drawing/care. She continues to sing and paint in a more personal way. She also trained in traditional Chinese medicine massage practices, which offer symbolism and images for each acupuncture point, which inspire her pictorial work.
