A balloon, hands, feet, a body.
On stage, everything is transformed into a puppet.
A journey on the boundary between puppetry and circus featuring an unlikely duo: a balloon and a trapeze artist.

A puppet-balloon comes to life, growing in sync with its falls, discoveries, and newfound balance. This acrobatic journey allows it to soar towards autonomy and discover its identity, reminding the little acrobats of life that any elevation requires a solid foundation.

Set against a musical landscape inspired by the worlds of Moondog and Erik Satie, Em Suspenso explores how our relationships with others enrich us and help us grow.

An invitation to delicacy, to the joy of awakening to others and to oneself.

A poem without words, subtle, delicious and enchanting!

"An enchanting and poetic moment for everyone.” - Lamuse

“A wordless tale for children that speaks a lot about the relationships with others, closeness, complicity, apprehension, the evolution of each person as they grow (...). Puppeteers Fatna Djahra and Alicia Packer and circus artist Luz Andreani offered a bubble of poetry that delighted kids and adults alike.” - Muriel Moncelet, Dauphiné Libéré

“A moment of poetry with Théâtre l'Articule (...). The hero is a red balloon with a nose that gives it a strangely intriguing look and mischievous hands... In the half-light, this curious balloon multiplies adventures and encounters with sensitivity.” - Valentine Autruffe, Le Petit Bullentin

“This enchanting show without words is a precious metaphor for opening up to the world and dazzling small acrobats.” - Journal Ventilo

BIO

Fatna Djahra graduated in performing arts at the ‘Sans Filet’ circus school in Brussels, the Jacques Lecoq International Theatre School in Paris and the Philippe Gaulier International Theatre School in London. After several experiences and collaborations in theatre and puppetry projects, Fatna Djahra founded Théâtre l'Articule in Geneva in 2009. In Pop-up Cirkus (2010), she brings traditional circus acts to life in miniature under a paper tent. Super Elle (2014) is based once more on the principle of the giant pop-up book and portrays the adventures of a superheroine. In Après l'Hiver (2017), the artist and her creative team combine puppets, projected images, moving drawings and live painting. With Em Suspensão (Comme Suspendu), the company opens a new chapter in the adventure of living, emphasising the importance of building solid foundations in order to grow.

Fatna Djahra has the art of talking to the small ones, adapting to their rhythm and extreme concentration. She offers them shows with meticulous aesthetics that leave room for imagination: shared beauty becomes a precious and nourishing moment.
