Bruno was a strange little boy. His head was always in the clouds and his feet were rarely on the ground. When the war reached his town, he and his neighbor, Célestine, decided to fight back.
Seeing his city destroyed by war, Bruno tries to escape the madness of the world through his imagination, and tries to find creative strategies with Célestine to escape the harsh reality, and this beautiful friendship transcends everything...
A wordless and surreal paper and pop-up theatre performance that shimmers between reality and dream. Or how to transform the architecture of paper and pop-up worlds, by revealing the beauty and the incomprehensible cruelty of a world seen through the eyes of a boy called Bruno.

BIO
Griet Herssens creates intimate and visually surprising visual works. Inventive, pop-up paper theatres, model worlds, light and shadow. She started out as a costume designer, but her work has increasingly evolved into scenography and the creation of objects for visual theatre. She often collaborates with theatre companies and has recently worked on several creations for Kopergietery and Ultima Thule.
With her previous company, Meandertaal, she created Paper Cuts. A cardboard and paper fantasy full of little hidden universes and stories to discover. She then made her first solo creation, Bruno. In 2016 she began working with Audrey Dero and Trip Tout Petit was born.
